I think it would be better if @marsta@beehaw.org would post the errors so the solution to his problems is documented in case someone else has a similar problem.

This way we could google problems and just add lemmy instead of reddit to find a proper solution.

I still feel a bit like going through withdrawal, especially in the moments where I would just get out the phone and would mindlessly browse through reddit. I still get out the phone and stare at it a bit until I realize what I was trying to do. Didn’t realize how bad it has become until in then last few days.

They have been doing this since March 2020.

Google is hell bent to make you see their ads. I just remembered that they are also changing the api which adblockers use in turn crippling them.

My guess is, that they‘ll wait as long as possible to pay mods. This would set a precedent for the whole platform.

Mostly power users will leave for something else, which in turn leads to worse content on Reddit.

Well here we are fighting other people like us who just want to be entertained in one way or another. In the mean time another entity is making a profit off all the attention their product is getting through all of this.

Interesting that spez talks about democracy regarding Reddit while he looks like a dictator trying to push his opinion regarding other people making a living, 3rd party App devs are willing to pay a reasonable price that’s justified to use the api. But that’s not enough for spez…
