Before I was diagnosed and medicated I flunked out of college, my marriage was strained, and I couldnā€™t hold down a job. I am much more thoughtful, intelligent, well-spoken, creative, and happier on my medication.

I acknowledge that my experience might not apply to everyone but your comment is disregarding people with ADHD that want to be, well, part of society.

The title makes it sound more provocative than it really is. Itā€™s like saying ā€œAmericaā€™s Love Affair with Glassesā€ or ā€œAmericaā€™s Love Affair with Insulinā€.

The article is actually pretty good. For many Americans Adderall and other stimulates to treat ADHD let us function in society and the shortage was hard on millions of Americans.

my options are either to buy my own laptop and work somewhere else when I need to get work done or make a partition/new user on my desktop thatā€™s strictly for work

1000% option 1. You need to have a work space that is only for work and nothing else. Get the laptop and set it up in a room far away from any other devices(TV, desktop, etc).

Replying from Lemmy. šŸ‘‹ Not the norm over here either. I wonder if there is just some weird sync issue happening?

Lemmy communities have public Mod Logs so even if a thread was removed I donā€™t think itā€™s gone forever.

Same when you pluralize an initialism or acronym. ATMs not ATMā€™s. Unless it is needed for clarity. If you had the acronym ā€œASā€ you might choose ASā€™s instead of ASs.

Rust is a very good language but is relatively new on the scene so it has to compete against other languages that fit the same niche(primarily C++) that have been around a lot longer.

Rust has been very popular for hobby projects for a while but itā€™s still pretty rare to see it for larger projects, and you still almost never see it for enterprise projects. So itā€™s cool seeing an app that uses it blow up.

$3/month is a lot just to be able to use a 3rd party app. I donā€™t think many users are going to go for it. And itā€™s not like the developer is making much money off of it, it is all just to pay the new API costs.

I havenā€™t been here much longer. Itā€™s been really cool seeing all of the communities pop up as users flood in.
