BBC Verify has analysed the Israeli strike locations and found that they are indeed striking ‘safety zones’ where IDF instructed Gazaans to take shelter. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67264703

The Miyawaki method is an afforestation technique for cultivating fast-growing groves of native plants, with the dense, mixed planting intended to simulate the layers of a natural forest.

The reporter alleges that Russia has taken some 9000 children and it would seem that at least some of them have been undergoing Russian military training. While involuntary rounding up of Ukrainian children and deporting them to Russia or Russian occupied territories constitutes a war crime, let’s not forget that the USA, bastion of human liberty and rights, separated more than 5500 children from their parents at the border, beginning in 2017 through the period of the Trump administration. Families endured separation for years. As of 2022 some 545 children had not yet been reunited with their parents, and of that number, the whereabouts of 362 could no longer be traced. Children and families do not matter to fascists.

Me too. I used to spend hours on Reddit. Joined back in the day when Digg users migrated to Reddit. I do miss some of the subs, but I’ve also become bored with so much of the recycling. Lemmy and Kbin are relatively new, but I welcome the open source concept behind federation, and here’s an opportunity to invest in creating and being part of communities that own their contributions.

China isn’t gunning for the Philippines. It’s got Taiwan in its sights. Understandably, Philippines is nervous about China squatting just beyond Philippine waters, but it ought to be even more nervous about its security in the event of open hostilities between the US and China over Taiwan.

'The deputy president of the P-Hailing Organisation of Malaysia estimates 20 per cent of the 403,637 post-SPM examination students to enter the food delivery industry, known locally as p-hailing, as riders this year due to job and financial constraints.

'…The newspaper previously reported on June 1 that more than 458,000 SPM graduates are estimated not to further their studies in the next three years.

‘It cited statistics from an unnamed source showing that 48.74 per cent or 180,680 SPM graduates in 2021, an increase from the 35.16 per cent, or 115,939 SPM graduates in 2020, stopped their education after taking the final secondary school examination in Form Five.’

With these numbers the gig industry will be saturated … but maybe high attrition rate amongst gig workers?
