We’re going to end up paying the 50 one way or another. The only thing is that’s this back and forth is pushing back the timeline for Lavia to be integrated into the squad.
I thought we were over this type of negotiating! The longer we delay this transfer the longer into the season before Lavia is settled. Surely the Hendo/Fab transfers can cover what’s required here.
I wonder if the Saudi money will be there for years to come or if this is just one season of a huge cash injection. I remember when people were going to china for huge wages - which has since dried up a fair bit.
When you weigh up his reasons for leaving (i.e.,money, reduced playing time?) against all the potential draw backs (i.e., lgbt issues, league with less quality, not picked for euros, leaving role as captain of one of worlds biggest teams, team he’s going to will not be competitive?), it seems like a horrible decision. I guess money talks and that’s the point of the article 🤷♂️
Reddy also mentioned:
"Lavia and Gravenberch have long been considered by LFC (regardless of current situation), with their reps spoken to. Other players they’ve looked at: Nicolo Barella, Khephren Thuram, Florentino Luis, Joao Palhinha, Teun Koopmeiners…
They do love a surprise, stealth signing"
Hopefully this means the wheels are turning and we are about to see something!
