When you weigh up his reasons for leaving (i.e.,money, reduced playing time?) against all the potential draw backs (i.e., lgbt issues, league with less quality, not picked for euros, leaving role as captain of one of worlds biggest teams, team he’s going to will not be competitive?), it seems like a horrible decision. It is really weird but at the end of the day he’s not going to be in a position to earn 700k a year for three years after this current LFC deal. Cashing in seems too appealing - what other reasons are there?
