That usually involves replacing drives, and drives get expensive fast. Synogy and all the other NAS makers won’t make a >4 bay NAS without charging an arm and a leg for them. Then there’s the cost of replacing a perfectly good hard drive with another of a large capacity. And because you want redundancy that doesn’t mean just one drive, that meant at least 2 possibly all 4 drives.

It’s something that the lemmy devs really ought to fix.

Plus if you’re walking in the road walk against the flow of cars not with. That way if a drunk driver (or just general asshole) comes swerving down the road you can see it and react.

If it’s a phone I wouldn’t want it left on my porch. But literally anything else? Leave it there. I don’t want to go out of my way to pick up a USB cable that was ordered online.

Plus if something has been ignored for so long that it basically needs a full rewrite of some aspect then even if you have the skills to do it, you can’t realistically do it because it’s such a big problem.

You still have to pay for the cell service to connect the car. That’s going to cost a whole lot more than $1

That sounds positively awful to me. If I’m home by 6, finish eating by 7 then I can’t do anything at night.
