Well, today I learned Russia is converting dinosaur juice into 6,200 disposable soldiers each month. That’s depressing as fuck.

The ads can be variable length and tailored to whoever is downloading the podcast. SponsorBlock for podcasts does indeed need to be a thing (but it may be tricky to implement and easily subverted).

The ads are put in by whoever makes the podcast.

The issue is 3rd party apps make it easier for non-techie people to subvert censorship. Raising the bar works bigly in the Kremlin’s favor.

Never connect a smart TV to your WiFi, disable WiFi, connect an Android TV box via HDMI and use that. Debloat, root, or run a custom ROM on that box. Then run SmartTube, Jellyfin, Pi-hole, etc. to bring ad-free sanity to your living room. Obviously a dumb TV is best. But this is your best alternative, if you already have a “smart” TV.

Chevy Bolt (electric) is approx. 3,600 lbs. Ford Fiesta (gas) is approx. 2,500 lbs. I think your numbers are kilograms. Sorry to be pedantic, just trying to get correct numbers. But what you’re saying is basically correct. Most small EVs are still lighter than midsize and bigger ICE cars. If you want apples to apples: the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV is 5,000 lbs, whereas the 2024 gas version is approx. 3,400 lbs.

Nah, most push and riding mowers are definitely 4 stroke. You’re absolutely correct that 2 strokes need to burn oil and create some visible smoke (to be properly lubricated). Only small, powered equipment (such as trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws) are still commonly made with 2 strokes. My smoking push mower was made in the mid 1980’s and is miraculously still running. It apparently has worn seals that are allowing crankcase oil into the combustion chamber.

Mine burns a little oil, so I just keep adding it. That way it gets a perpetual oil change. guytappinghead.jpg
