Filthy Windows casual with 20-year old Redhat and OBSD experience. Might get back into BSDs.
When I signed up for iusearchlinux.fyi my dog came back, my marriage was mended and I regrew my hair. Thanks iusearchlinux.fyi!
Clicking on a user’s name directly will allow you to message them. The dropdown icon in the far right next to block user will let you take actions like banning, moderating and purging.
If you’re not an admin or a mod in this specific instance you should not be able to use moderation tools.
Draft Ricky Williams, keep Jim McMahon and draft Henry Ruggs.
Sorry for my bad english.
My only problem is you thinking you have poor English
Unless the other instances violate laws or show that their purpose is to be problematic towards people, there should be no need to defederate. I know that problematic is a vague term, but it should be obvious what is meant by it: if you’re (royal ‘you’re’) espousing opinions for the sole purpose of bothering people, you’re being problematic. If you’re spreading hatred, you’re being problematic. If you can’t reply to anything without having to insult someone else, you’re being problematic.
With that said, there is a line between posting to be humorous and posting with malice. All of us are human but I trust the other admins to make the correct call. I’m trying my hardest to take a hands-off approach regarding rule enforcement and let this community be great and for the most part it has done just that with some minor bumps along the way. Just as people here are learning how to use the platform, so are we and with that will come mistakes and problems, and we will try our hardest to take it all in stride because we not only respect each other but we want to extend that respect to everyone here.
This is our (admins, users, people who decide to join later, lurkers, everyone) chance to create a decent community where being challenged on decisions means not dismissing what’s said and giving an earnest amount of time to see where the community is coming from. I have strong opinions as I’m sure everyone here does, but I will put a lot of it aside to be fairer to people I may disagree with because it is the right thing to do.
Hopefully this answers your questions and any other questions regarding intent. I know it was lengthy, but I wanted to be extremely clear on my personal stance. The others can speak for themselves.
