I’m amazed that Project Orion went on as long as it did.
If you want to make a formal feature request for the default Lemmy web interface then you want to go here: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui
I don’t think there is a Lemmy community for informal feature discussion with the developers.
As some others mentioned, the behavior might be different if you are using an app or an alternate web front end.
This community is going to stay open for now. I found another user interested in taking over moderation. Mentioning @ReadyUser31@lemmy.world for info.
Also, after further discussion with other users, I’m less enthusiastic about shutting down whitepeopletwitter. It’s our instance’s busiest community, so closing it would feel like a significant loss. And moving a high-traffic community to lemmy.world exacerbates the problem of Lemmy’s federation throughput bug, which hasn’t been resolved yet.
Even coordinated the fork decals! Nice work, it’s a beauty. Time to get some dirt on that paint.
No, spam wasn’t an issue. This community was simply looking abandoned; I had a “seeking mods” post up for six months and got no responses. It’s also another case of Lemmy community fragmentation. Hopefully having fewer, better-moderated communities for a given topic will drive more user engagement than spreading posts over lots of little-used communities.
In hindsight I should have pinned an explanatory post beforehand so users could weigh in. I will do that in the future.
