Anson Mount tweeted an update that the first tweet may not be accurate. The organizers of Star Trek Las Vegas, Creation Entertainment, are running a Vampire Diaries convention in Orlando this weekend. While the actors are appearing on the panels, there are reports from attendees on Twitter and Instagram that the actors are not discussing or answering any questions related to the show.
I really hope that if the talks between the guild and the convention organizers this week aren’t able to provide an exception for talking about projects at independent conventions, that Creation will postpone STLV.
Are all panels necessarily promotional? Perhaps they could talk about what it’s like working with one another and other crew members without referencing a specific project enough to be considered promotion? I’ve never been to a Trek con before so I’m not sure if the format of a panel leaves any leeway.
Creation Entertainment finally confirmed the con will continue as planned, but that doesn’t necessarily mean every panel will still be held.
How do you read this tweet from Anson Mount? It seems to be suggesting the con won’t be affected, however it’s not an explicit confirmation of his attendance. Would panels related to SNW mean the convention is being used to promote a specific project, or since Creation Entertainment is independent is that not considered promotion?
I also thought I forgot something from last season, it’s literally why I checked reddit and wound up here. Regardless of if prior lore established the existence of these stimulants, the fact that there was basically no discussion of what they are or the fact the doctor carries them around before they use them was very jarring.
If they had super-soldier drugs the whole time why didn’t they use them against the gorn or any other combat that occurred in season 1?
