I have made very few posts to Lemmy but a recent one was a neutral-ish post saying that I liked the Madison videos etc. but I’m also not jumping to boycott LTT based on the testimony of one person and also a YouTube expose. The responses I got were negative and I was also told not to “deadname” another creator… who I wager nobody would know who I am talking about if I used that name.

Long story short, the comparisons to reddit seem downright charitable so far. Pitchfork brigade bullshit. How about having a nuanced opinion on literally any topic? Or is the average Lemmy user a sanctimonious 19 year old basement socialist?

Gonna raise a practical consideration here and point out that almost nobody knows who that second name is. Not everybody is 2,000 yards deep in the Linus Cinematic Universe. For the record I wish this person the best and liked most of the content featuring said person.

This is correct. The motion of the people is relative to the Portal. It doesn’t matter if the trolley is accelerating the Portal towards them or something is accelerating them towards the Portal. Therefore they accelerate out of the other side with some retained momentum. Technically it probably resembles something in between pictures A and B.

This reminds me of the experiment about whether an airplane could take off from a treadmill.

Not sure if he was formally writing them or just developing ideas at the time, but it is well known that Dostoevsky was nearly executed as a young man for the crime of running in literary circles that criticized the Tsar. He was spared the firing squad but was in a prison camp for several years.

Many of his later famous works including Crime and Punishment and The Brothers Karamazov seem at least tangentially inspired by this experience.

The problem is any of the stuff like shelving or say a load bearing surface like a desk. Those flat surfaces are almost always MDF or whatever cheap engineered wood products IKEA uses. The furniture looks nice initially, especially for the price, but the horizontal surfaces always sag after 2-3 years even under low weight. I have a dresser, a desk, and shelving that all developed this problem and some of the shelves barely have anything on them.

Wasn’t she an open lesbian on YouTube? CCP thugs could have watched her channel and gleaned the same info.

Supposedly there are people who still play 1.6 so I’m sure anything is possible.
