Happy I’m not in IT anymore.
One of my first major outages was caused by the iloveyou.vbs virus that emailed itself to your contact list. It brought our exchange server to its knees in minutes and took quite a while to clean up.
Nobody really understood at the time that attachments could be dangerous.
Civics, politics, and world history classes. Is nobody taking these anymore? Sheesh.
Thank you for being willing to stick your neck out there and say what you feel and see.
On social media, especially sites where voting seems to happen in packs, it’s risky to have a counter opinion. Too many people just don’t say how they feel if it’s counter to the mainstream, and then their voices are completely drowned out.
Perhaps your idea is more mainstream than you know but those who share it don’t have a willingness to jump into the fire, leaving those with more extreme positions thinking they have agreement with most when they don’t.
He gets a pass because we already know it will happen. No surprises at all. The bar is very very low. I guess his ‘genius’ is that he’s got enough cash to both set the bar low and then manage to still function marginally.
The media reporting on that would be boring.
With everyone else, the bar is still slightly higher.
I see this often. That tells me I’ve done enough scrolling and it’s time to get back to work.
I usually browse /all and top 6 hours
A cool feature for the fediverse could be some kind of aggregated view and a way for the community to link common topic threads.
