If the money is never spent for hurricane relief, then this is straight up fraud and possibly money laundering (depending on how the money is finally spent). However, there are likely legal time limits set, so they could distribute some funds at some distant time in the future to avoid prosecution.

We’ve already seen this play out nearly to the end with the “We build the Wall” graft. One participant is in prison for 4 years already. Steve Bannon’s trial for this crime is upcoming later this year. source

From what I gather this is part of the Sovcit bullshit incantation that the person named ( in reality themselves) isn’t a real person. The “real person” is someone else (also themselves in reality). The someone else (in reality themselves) is claiming an interest in the named person (again, themselves in reality). They think that by trying to concocted this extra disposable entity they can have the disposable entity take all the blame/punishment while they walk away scot-free.

This is, of course, all bullshit, and no one in the legal world buys it which is why these Sovcits suffer the consequences of their actions in the real world under the law.

Most electric semis will not be able to haul as much stuff at once.

I agree with this statement, but not all trucks are weightbound. Many hit their volume limits long before weight limits. Additional with TCO its possible the cost per mile of operating an electric semi might still be worth hauling less tonnage per truck requiring additional shipments.

A lot! Sometimes 50 dollars for some stupid form that has no bearing on what they’re trying to do.

The rationale is probably something like “Yes I have to pay $50, but it will save me from paying $2000” which sounds great, but critical thinkers (of which these folks are not) don’t realize this is the same thing as:

“If you give me me your cow, I’ll give you these magic beans” from the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. The difference is that in real life there is no beanstalk, just a handful of beans.

Keep in mind you made no requirement about the quality of the show.

SeaQuest: DSRV

"Set in “the near future” (the year 2018 in the first season), seaQuest DSV originally mixed high drama with realistic scientific fiction.[4] The first two seasons star Roy Scheider as Captain Nathan Bridger, designer and commander of the eponymous naval submarine seaQuest DSV 4600, the ship prefix standing for “deep-submergence vehicle”. During his inaugural policy speech in both chambers of the Diet on Oct. 4, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba referred to wage hikes and labor shortages, pledging to realize pay increases exceeding inflation by raising each worker’s productivity, added value and income toward a positive cycle of pay raises and mitigation of understaffing.

This is a good start to improve the lives of what workers exist right now in the workforce. However, with an ever declining and aging population I don’t know if this will be a long term fix for the country. Japanese corporate work culture is famously toxic to the growth of families with obligatory overtime. Even fixing overnight this will leave a generational gap of 20 to 30 years. In that time without replacement workers from somewhere will further damage national economy making a recovery more difficult if/when the population recovers.

He also vowed to promote an improved environment for small to midsize businesses to increase wages.

Some substance around this would be helpful. Does that mean tax breaks? Government subsidies?

This is great when it applies, but there are lots of things in life that aren’t fun and no amount of effort will make you “learn to love the process”.

For most things like this its “hate the consequences of NOT doing the thing more than doing the thing.” The shortcoming of this is that you may not get all the way to the end goal because the consequences are fewer for getting part way or most of the way there.

Probably easy for them to maintain

Agreed. I made the maintenance comment as to why pizza vending machines aren’t more widespread.

I think you’re joking, but in case you aren’t, the answer is: no. Digestion takes a surprising amount of energy from your body. You can either use that energy for running OR digestion, not both at the same time. If you are trying to full speed sprint after eating a meal, your parasympathetic nervous system would assume you’ve decided that running at top speed is more important and shut down digestion freeing up energy to use your muscles for running. It might also decide that having the undigested food in you may be a risk, and cause you to throw up.

This sounds like Pepsi’s first press statements before they found out what shit boxes these trucks are the hard way.

Do you have info on this? I hadn’t heard any negative reaction from Pepsi.

Edit: I did my own searching at I’m even more skeptical of your claim Pepsi doesn’t like Tesla Semi. Their biggest complaint is that they can’t buy as many as they want.. In that article they even say they’re buying additional electric Semi trucks from competitors, but competitor trucks have half the range. In this article from 3 days ago Pepsi is talking a how much they like the Tesla Semi. And in this article Pepsi talks about how the Pepsi truck drivers like the Tesla Semi.. So nothing here matches what you’re saying. I’m interested to see what you saw to form your conclusion.
