First post on Lemmy! So long Reddit, looking forward to Sync for Lemmy to be developed. By the way, where’s the bathroom?

I learned earlier that she’s a 3 month old Akita pup!

She’s sooo cute, but I’m interested to see how big she gets

That’s a good size! Some of the Akitas I saw at online looked pretty big so I wasn’t sure. Suki is so cute, what a sweet pup!

They may be forcing the person in charge of the Reddit Coins department to shut down the existing coin system so that they can more fully implement Reddit Vault (their own crypto wallet) and allow users to purchase their crypto awards / coins to give to each other instead.

I was watching this video on IMAX film and noticed that the outside film is actually fixed in place and the reel unspools from the center and fills up the reel on the other rack. So fortunately it isn’t possible for it to unspools from the outside.

Ah, that’s interesting and definitely sounds like an awful mess to deal with. Thanks for sharing, I’m not as familiar with film projection.

Vrbo is another option but more geared towards vacation rentals.

Personally I’ve had good experiences overall with Airbnb but it takes research to find the good ones from the suspicious listings.

It’s hard to argue with this when you hold the title of “Recipient of largest stock grant in human history.”

I have little brown bats that live in an old barn attached to my house in Vermont, USA. I can confirm that they are really cute! There’s a couple corners and nooks that they particularly like to nest in and so sometimes I will peek with a flashlight to see them all hanging out, cuddling together.

In the evening if I’m in the barn I can hear them all waking up and talking with these tiny little chirps and peeps. Then as night falls they will be swooping around the barn and flying out the windows or they’ll crawl through some small cracks between the walls and roof to head out for a night of catching insects.

The only downside is that they poop on everything, but it’s not that hard to clean up, I have a backpack shop vac that makes quick work of it. White nose syndrome has reduced their population by over 90% according to recent studies and so we are happy to give them someplace safe to live.
