“if we burn” really dissected that period, such an excellent read.
How about the general secretary of NATO admitting that the war happened because of NATO expansion? The following is an article by Jeffrey Sacks talking about it: https://www.jeffsachs.org/newspaper-articles/nato-chief-admits-expansion-behind-russian-invasion
This is not exactly what you ask but the quote of Stoltenberg is pretty telling:
The background was that President Putin declared in the autumn of 2021, and actually sent a draft treaty that they wanted NATO to sign, to promise no more NATO enlargement. That was what he sent us. And was a pre-condition to not invade Ukraine. Of course, we didn’t sign that.
The opposite happened. He wanted us to sign that promise, never to enlarge NATO. He wanted us to remove our military infrastructure in all Allies that have joined NATO since 1997, meaning half of NATO, all the Central and Eastern Europe, we should remove NATO from that part of our Alliance, introducing some kind of B, or second-class membership. We rejected that.
So, he went to war to prevent NATO, more NATO, close to his borders. He has got the exact opposite.
No, you get it perfectly. It’s “American Dream: The movie”. Innocent white middle class man can pick himself up from his bootstraps even from the prison cell. I watched it years ago, and felt exactly what you describe.
The situation in the Netherlands is also pretty bad. 1 in 80 people tested positive. The waste water analysis shows that things are now worse than the 2021 autumn surge. :(
Committed a genocide.
Is this not satire? “I am just here to data harvest!”?
