Ya, it was more or less this. Nearly all the scooter riders had lost their license to a DUI conviction and could then legally cruise public roads on a scooter without a license or insurance. A helmet was required tho if I remember correctly 🙃

I could have phrased this much better, thanks for interpreting for me haha. That is exactly what I meant.

Is RCS still a Google-driven scheme? I liked using Signal and its ability for messaging high quality images but it dropped support for nonusers.

I’m curious about the arrests, there isn’t much to go on here. I used to live in a US state that required no licensing or insurance for mopeds so it seems good to enforce something like this. In that state, they were called liquor cycles…

That’s kind of what I wondered, there are a couple of documentaries that I have had bookmarked, possibly for as long as 10 years, and they still exist. Pretty sure they are on thr producer’s page, tho. Not sure of I have ever watched anything mainstream on there or not.

What impacts the longevity of these?

Ya. It’s a pretty preliminary article, hard to say much about it.

You can check an eBook out, but there are examples of issues, something like the library can only do it five times or whatever. It isn’t treated like an actual book. I don’t know the details but there are problems with eBook rentals.

Digital anything is not covered by the first sale doctrine. Every individual loan is a copy

So this is basically why ebooks are problematic at libraries then? That issue alone really seems like it needs a legal update.
