The problem is that everyone has consolidated on one gargantuan server. The whole point of the fediverse is to spread out so no one server is carrying the entire load. I’m currently using lemm.ee and have experienced none of the issues being discussed here.

But yes, I agree that it could be a potential turn off for newcomers.

I really hope it is. We’ve cultivated a nice community on the fediverse and I don’t want some shady corpo ruining it for all of us.

Currently playing through Burnout 3 in an emulator. The game holds up really well. I’ve finished every single time trial & race with gold medals. Only crash events left to complete :)

The next game on my hit list is dragon age origins!

Also yes, the idea to make this a regular thread would be pretty great imo

The instance of searx that i use automatically redirected all reddit links to libreddit. It was very fast and distraction free

It started as a privacy thing but as I dug deeper, I found that all of the foss alternatives I found were simply much better in terms of functionality & usability

If your keyboard is supported by ratbag, it might be worth using it + piper to configure your board instead of whatever this is

I loved the original trilogy & the prequels i thought were decent too. The newer films have been terrible tho

Imo it’s kinda unavoidable. Humans make mistakes all the time. We could greatly reduce the risk however, if we simply reduced our reliance on independent vehicles. Unfortunately this depends on the place where you live as well but if possible, it would be much safer for the collective majority to bike/walk to areas or use public transport where applicable as it would drop the amount of traffic on the roads
