This is incredible, thanks for compiling/sharing/archiving! I’m gonna take a better look once I get home, wow.

I agree, the banner should definitely be some sort of colonnade lol. Maybe some sort of thought bubble or group of people/talking head(s) for the icon? (I’m about to turn in for the evening so if this garners any interest, I can do a quick mock-up tomorrow (not that I have the skills to make a finished product lol))

Unfortunately I haven’t really had the opportunity to go camping this summer, though my partner’s birthday is in August and he likes to go then. We normally go to Dos Picos in CA, it’s a cute little campsite with some nearby trails and mountains (like Iron Mtn and Potato Chip Rock); it’s also pretty affordable.

It’s the same way for me. I think it’s working as intended (for now) but I would really like to be able to set a default timeline or something.

Oh, nice. I might actually have a reason to start hoarding caches again…

This, this also plays into the age-old debates about intolerance of intolerance and “free” speech. “Free” speech means that you are free to say whatever you would like, as long as you are willing to accept the natural consequences, and tolerance is one of many other social contracts we have in place.

You are welcome to lie to someone, to call them names, to tell them awful things or to just spout bullshit all day. But the flip side of that is that people are also free to say what they will, and engage with who they want, and if you are a real asshole who finds issue with everyone very few people will willingly do so with you. In other words: don’t poke the bear, and you won’t get eaten.

I like this idea, we should as an instance write down core values, maybe about half a dozen, that we would like to abide by.

I heard Lemmy broke something with the latest update. My understanding is that there was a larger update which temporarily removed captcha, and Lemmy opted to just deal for a few days rather than go through the inevitable wave of spambots.
