@miki@dragonscave.space the same could happen if the X accounts gets hacked. Or the website. Having multiple communication channels is the key to avoid those kinds of problems.
Monoculture is always a problem.

@zirias@snac.bsd.cafe @modev@snac.bsd.cafe Entire instances can be blocked using the command line, but they’re using many (abandoned? loosely moderated?) instances.
We can also set the “drop posts from accounts created less than X seconds ago”. We could set a 86400 seconds - but we could lose new users, posting their introductions.

For now, I’ve blocked those instances you pointed out

@justine@bsd.cafe It’s simple, almost no dependencies, you can host it everywhere.
But the experience isn’t as complete or “polished” as with Mastodon.
If you want to, I can create you a test account on https://snac.bsd.cafe so you can try it yourself

@ininewcrow@lemmy.ca true. The smartphone hasn’t done a great job here.
Still, I like to think that the lights are “noisy” while the darkness makes the sea “silent”. That’s why I was concentrating on this message.
