I definitely think it would do a fantastic job of baiting out reactions and listening to what someone has to say about it after would probably clue you in on what stood out to them about it. Obviously none of these types of tests can be conclusive, but I’d say if someone came out of the theater super angry then that’s pretty telling of something at least. A good starting point for further discussion with that person.
On the whole I thought the movie was hilarious and had a very compassionate message for men at the end of the movie as well.
My biggest issue after watching it has just been having to see braindead takes from people online, swinging in both directions. Lots of “the movie hates men” types but I’ve also seen a few “DAE, men bad?” tier takes as well which is a bit disheartening.
Yoship said during the fanfest keynote that the expansion should be kind of a vacation for the WoL (at least I’m remembering him.saying that). I mean, you can’t raise the stakes higher than the death of the entire universe so you’ve just gotta work yourself back. They already have dynamis as an explanation as to why we were able to fight something like the villain of endwalker so it’d be pretty easy for them to say we’re not as strong because we don’t need to be.
Anyway I think it’ll be nice to have a more relaxed expansion

It’s tragic really, I actually quite like everything apart from the script. I knew from the get that they would have to cut a lot of stuff and merge some books - which to be honest is fine, plenty of stuff that doesn’t need to go in - but I don’t understand their need to manufacture melodrama. It feels like every episode nothing happens but we’re still flying through the plot.
Just a complete failure to match the tone/cadence of the books. So much time should be spent traveling and exploring the world, but the show chooses to sit around and have overdramatic unexplained scenes that won’t make any sense to someone who hasn’t read the books. I’m still not sure who the target audience is.
God forbid people care about the game’s development. Nobody is trying to stop you from playing or enjoying the game.
