This more or less captures the spirit of the last 100 days, yup. Maybe I should watch some Bojack, it’s certainly more lighthearted than this political season has been. Ugh

I heard. We weren’t immune to the low turn out, and if anything we had a lot more protest votes since we’re a “safe blue” state. Actually I’m much more concerned about how it impacts some house races. We might be a bit screwed, and lazy Californians might be why.

Any idea which states might fit the bill?

I didn’t know the governor said that. And the cons so exist, but really only to landlords and rich people like him.

I’ll be honest that rent control isn’t perfect though. A band aid at best.

It might be easier to do it as an amendment if there a massive shift in power over the next decade (and I shudder to think what that’d be that was so upsetting or so lethal that the entire landscape changes to Dems having a super majority).

Same. I’m not sure if I’m more… “Ok” with this? We should still abolish the electoral college, but we were shafted by the American people this time (and the propaganda machine making things worse). It’s the first time since I turned 18 that the GOP actually won the popular vote… Sigh

It’s true. Some places are affordable but won’t be terribly enjoyable unless a lot of progressives move there (like Bakersfield isn’t the worst place in the world).

Edit: on two separate occasions I saw cars wrapped in full anime weeb regalia parked in places in Bakersfield. It’s just mostly immigrant farm workers, though.

It’s only good for the threat of him trying to use the military on his own people. Small silver lining indeed.
