I have definetly seen them causing trouble, especially with hexbear. Hexbear has many spambots and trolls, which can clog up comment sections, and both instances are very pro-Russia and pro-CCP.

I really want people to start considering “woke” a slur. Its basically just a word the far right uses for people they don’t like, aka minorities.

There’s the 196 communities, which I’d assume are still active on Reddit as well as being on Tumblr and Lemmy, so not entirely true

It doesn’t really work for comments though (it only places a content warning over them) which is 75% of the reason why hexbear is so horrible in the first place.

It is impossible to have this conversation while still federated with them, because they’re so large that any votes to defederate will be heavily biased because of their influence. Temporarily defederate first, then have another discussion thread.

You could use only one, but browsing lemmy through mastodon (and vice versa) isn’t a great experience, so its recommended to have an account on both.

But in that case, it would be a far better option to ban anyone from placing keyloggers on your computer and GPS trackers in your clothing, because that not only stops Steve from doing it, but also Steve’s cousin Alex, and anyone else who would want to do so.
