I put sliced bread in the freezer and thaw slices as I need them in my toaster. Works pretty well, haven’t thrown away moldy bread since I started doing that

Joke aside, I don’t get this, why not bring a reusable microfiber towel instead, they can be quite small and lightweight.

Apple produces hardware for their walled garden, whereas Google imposes their terms on third parties. I can’t speak to how this works legally, but thats the main difference as far as I understand.

Paycheck, but perhaps also safety regulations and other work conditions (e.g., mandatory rest time)

Holy shit that’s annoying. Say I installed Win11 for my elderly parents. They’d get this sign-up screen after I would have thought everything was setup and ready to use.

Glad I installed elementary OS for them a few years ago, it’s been completely painless (they are used to apple-UX)

Hmm. Why not set also set a retirement age? Are there any rules for what happens if a judge gets early onset Alzheimer’s or something?

Hehe, obviously not, no. I usually look at these things in the perspective of “what if everyone did this”. Sometimes it makes a lot of sense (e.g., recycling), but not always.

My main gripe with windows is that it’s gradually turning to adware/spyware after MS decided to go for that sweet data collection revenue. That also means a shift in the focus of the development of the OS, as it’s not being developed for the benefit of the users anymore.

That, and software development processed are more tedious. Although today I’m sure I could find a workflow that works with WSL or vcpkg.

Edit: Oh, and everything turning to webapps on the desktop. Love staring at white canvas while it waits for a server response.

Just because there’s a demand for something doesn’t mean you have to deliver. There needs to be environmental protections in place to avoid overfishing. The article points out a ban on trawling as a possible step, but spends too much time pointing at the aquaculture industry.

The oceans are fucked, and we need to start taking conservation seriously.
