imo that’s a stupid sentence that doesn’t say much. It supposedly means something like “there are certain circumstances that I/you/we would like to change, but there’s nothing any of us can do about it”, and I agree that there is a ton of things that are outside our control, but I do NOT like the sentiment this sentence oh-so-often transmits that we are all incapable of doing anything when things become rough.

The path we take in life will never correspond to the one we dreamt of, and it will stray away from it, as it already has many times, in ways we cannot yet imagine. However, that is not (and will never be) a good reason to give up. Because it’s in the face of adversity that we shine the brightest. And if you want to dazzle, OP, it’s now more than ever that you must fight your struggles with all your strength. Bring it on!

I was already aware of this fork. I haven’t tried it, but does it really fix most of the UX issues of GIMP?

From the update:

One area we want to focus on after 3.0 is improving our UI/UX design process. We have set up a separate UX repository to report and discuss issues related to design. We are looking to build a team of designers to discuss and create design improvements to GIMP that also respect existing user’s workflows. Denis Rangelov has taken a strong interest in this area and has already done great work in identifying, categorizing, and moving design issues from the code repository to the dedicated design section. Some design improvements have already been implemented for 3.0, and we look forward to working with community designers to give people a better experience!

It’ll take some time, but it seems like improvments may be coming.

I loved that the VP of Content added that mods will still be able to protest when Reddit is literally is getting rid of major tools for mods to do an effective protest. Like, I get that Reddit is a company, and that it’s a platform they own, and that they lose profit whenever a big subreddits get privated, but they keep giving mods middle finger after middle finger.

Ubuntu isn’t terrible, there are just bad things on Ubuntu that aren’t present in other distros.
