I’d recommend Sentinels of the Multiverse. It’s a fun co-op card game about superheroes trying to defeat a supervillain. It can get a little expensive if you try to buy every set in the series (my friends and I have done exactly that and it’s a massive number of cards), but all the different sets are compatible with each other, so you can pick the ones you want and just get those. The core gameplay loop is pretty simple where the villain and the players all take their turns attacking, but there is a ton of variety in how all the characters can be played.

Fun fact, MoltenVK enables running Vulkan on macOS. It does so by forwarding Vulkan calls into Metal. There’s a little bit of extra work involved in setting up the Vulkan instance under the hood, but it’s otherwise easy to forget it’s running on top of Metal. Granted, it would have been nice if Apple had just included native support for Vulkan out of the box.

My main distro for years has been Mint, but I play around with a several others frequently. For me, it comes down to the package managers I feel most comfortable in (I know apt the best, but I know zypper and pacman ok enough to get by) and the window manager integration. Personally, I prefer Cinnamon and I think Mint has the best integration for it. My only complaint with Mint lately is the difficulty of getting nvidia drivers to work properly. It should be as simple as selecting the driver you want in the driver manager, but secureboot complicates things a bit.

It’s a great time to be making that push with Microsoft now talking about putting Windows in the cloud and adding all sorts of AI bloatware to the OS.
