For me it’s probably the ability to sideload apps, among other things. Apps like NewPipe which would never make it to the Play Store are apps that I use every day, because they are just good apps. Also, I just like the UX of my Pixel compared to an iPhone - I couldn’t live without things like a back button, and I sort of don’t like the iOS UI.
Hopefully FMHY can be more successfull on Lemmy without some of the regulations that Reddit imposed!
as soon as anyone asks me anything about myself I immediately forget literally everything and become dumber than a goldfish
When people ask me things like “What’s your favorite song” I’m like “uhhhhhh idk I don’t remember any songs” every time
I’ve been lurking on Reddit for years now but now that I’ve switched to Lemmy, I’ll probably participate in discussions more. Plus, the vibe is so much more positive and welcoming here than on Reddit!
Seriously though, sometimes the music pisses me off so much at restaurants and whatnot. I’m not really that interested in random songs playing so loud that I can’t hear myself talk while I go places! I’d just rather stay home or go outside instead.
I made one about a week ago as well, it’s pretty nice. The communities seem to be getting a little richer with more users and I hope that communities like this one can become better than they were on Reddit!
I really think 1.20 was kind of a filler update with nothing really new noticeable but more lag (Maybe my computer is just bad though!). However, if 1.19 modding is any indication of what is to come, then 1.20 could be a step in the right direction for making modding easier, thus making the experience better for all. Until then, I’ll just try and see how to improve my performance with it so that I can try out some of the new features.
Currently, you have to click on the “link” button in the notification to go to the comment. But I also believe that that is a really unintuitive way to do it and that they should make it happen when you tap on the message.
