Because they’re not answering my support queries, and I’ve been having connectivity issues since the last two versions or so. Most of the time they’ve been pretty good, but if their desktop client can’t sync to their servers it’s of no use to me. Is anyone else having this problem?

EDIT: I would downgrade, but they recently changed the version numbers, so that’s adding to the confusion!

EDIT EDIT: I was considering going back to Thunderbird, but then the question of course is where to host my email (and please don’t suggest that I self host, that’s really beyond my capabilities!). Also, I think I read that K9 mail was supposed to rebrand to Thunderbird for Android, but it seems like it hasn’t happened yet. I just found this as well, about the supposedly forthcoming Thunderbird Sync:

We plan to support syncing of your email account definitions, credentials, signatures, saved searches, tags, tasks, filters, and most major preferences across multiple installations of Thunderbird on PC.>

Interestingly they don’t mention calendars . . .

Can I follow them on Mastodon from Beehaw/Lemmy?

@hedge Lemmy does not allow you to follow personal accounts. But you can have an account on Friendica or Kbin where you can, as both also have a decent view over Lemmy threads.

@petrescatraian @hedge Hi there, all support questions can be sent to our team at hello@tutao.de. We can also provide assistance via any of our social media platforms.

How was the desktop client in question which is not syncing installed on the device? Are you using an AppImage or the Flatpak option?

Hello, I’m using the AppImage on Linux Mint. The web and android clients don’t seem to have connectivity issues; only the desktop client. I was told to log out, delete my saved account on the desktop client and then log in again. This did not work. Then I was told to disable IPv6 which I think I did, though I’m not sure, and that didn’t help either. Turning off Mullvad VPN also didn’t seem to work. I’ve also reinstalled the desktop client several times, no dice. Looking over on reddit it looks like I’m not the only Tuta user who’s been having connectivity issues. All of the stuff I mentioned trying may or may not be correct as to what I actually did; at this point I honestly can’t remember for certain. What I am certain about is being on the verge of a nervous breakdown over all this; I’ve lost several days of work and I really need to have a syncing calendar that works. Yes, I can still use it on the web, but I really prefer to use a separate client. Is this the only cause of all my stress? No, I’ve been having a bad couple of days for several reasons, but this ongoing problem certainly doesn’t help.
