KEVIN ROBERTS (HERITAGE FOUNDATION PRESIDENT): In spite of all this nonsense from the left, we are going to win. Weâre in the process of taking this country back. No one in the audience should be despairing.
No one should be discouraged. We ought to be really encouraged by what happened yesterday. And in spite of all of the injustice, which, of course, friends and audience of this show, of our friend Steve know, we are going to prevail.
Number two, to the point of the clips and, of course, your preview of the fact that I am an early American historian and love the Constitution. That Supreme Court ruling yesterday on immunity is vital, and itâs vital for a lot of reasons. But I would go to Federalist No. 70.
For context: The Heritage Foundation is responsible for âProject 2025.â
-Good liberals with infinite patience and calm rationality turned me from conservative, and kinda shitty guy, to centrist with empathy for others.
-Maga turned me from centrist to reliably liberal (vote for each person down ballot based on scrutiny of their merits instead of affiliationâŚbut heavily blue leaning, unless the Dem was a knob or had a bad plan)
-P2025 turned me into VoteBlueNoMatterWho for every candidate for every election from local to president.
I asssume both of us realize âvote blue no matter whoâ wonât be enough. The DNC doesnât exist as a bulwark against fascism. Itâs only function is to operate as a hand of corporate interest. Currently the DNC is used as a way to corner us to the edge of a cliff so they can clip off the weak ones then drive the rest off the ledge.
If there was a way out, right now, it would be straight through. Except corpo rightly expect that you will cling to your way of life until the very end. Maybe if, when we were younger, they told us, âSome day you will have to make a choice. Chose to cling to your material possessions or to cling to each other. One will directly effect the other. Prepare yourself everyday until that point.â
Even then, we know now 30% for sure arenât giving up their âstuffâ no matter what. The rest. We will see I suppose.
I think most informed people understand that voting for Biden isnât the cure-all. We are a car without breaks careening down a cliff side, winding, pothole-filled road slick with a fresh spill from a septic truck and we are faced with turning one direction and driving off the cliff or turning the other and staying on the rough road knowing there is at least a chance of it clearing up and hopefully offering some better intersections ahead. At least Joeâs team is trying to hose off the sewage and is willing to hear you out about the asphalt-guy you know that can handle the job. The other guyâs side has Ivanâs Forestry Specialists on speed dial and just needs the cash advance to pay him, then he will totally be here any day to fix the roads cause he totally does that too. Also he is a pilot, so you should totally trust him that he can land the car if you go off the cliffâŚthere sure are some nice roads down there at the bottom. Biden, or even Democrats wonât fix everything. They will be conservative-lite, but the other option in our flawed system is conservative-FOREVER. The problem with your âwe must all give up everything and probably go homeless to protest and rebelâ is the prisonerâs dilemma. We all go in 100% or we lose⌠permanently. Those of us not dead set on going all-in, because we know others wonât (not even debatable), want to maintain the status quo as the only good option, so we can at least fix the âwe lose⌠permanentlyâ part.
Or maybe I am an idiot and havenât eaten today. Those are my 3¢(inflation).
Brother, I donât know how your day is going. I donât know how you feel about your past self. I do know that this comment of yours made me tear up. Itâs easy for me to vote blue. It was harder for you to decide, and I appreciate your effort. Thank you for being my neighbor.
