Wouldn’t open carry be a more effective transphobe deterrent?

I think a lot of people see open carry as a good deterrent because they’re not ready to actually use a gun to kill someone who’s about to hurt them. And that’s fair. Killing people is taboo for many good reasons. On top of the obvious effects of someone being dead, doing it is not psychologically healthy for the person doing it either. There are other types of weapons that will scare people and don’t massively increase the chance of you dying if someone steals it from you in a fight. There are other strategies for self defense beyond killing people before they can kill you.
