I was originally going to get a Dell Poweredge 1950 but I saw that those things are pretty old, so I have decided to get a Dell Poweredge R710 instead. The seller I am purchasing it is selling it for $70 USD but with no ram. I found some good ram for it which is $40 USD. Should I get this server? All I’m running is a file server and game server and do not care about noise.

I was able to get an R720 at auction for $70 shipped on eBay, those are the oldest I would go.

If you are going to use it for a game + file server you’d be better served by a newer lower classed model, e.g. R230, R330, R430. RX40 if you can swing it.

I was able to find one cheaper but the price of shipping is really expensive.
