I’m happy when crisis mode hits. I have that on lock

I was a paramedic back in my 20’s and 30’s. Constant crisis mode. I am a master of that shit. Clearest I ever am is in complete and utter chaos. That shit breaks your brain even worse though.

What do you mean it breaks your brain? Isn’t it good if you feel engaged in your work?

Imagine what you see and do every day as a paramedic. Now make it 100 times worse than you can even imagine and immerse yourself in it every day. The worst people have to offer as your daily routine. That is not good for anyone. PTSD is real. Added to ADHD it’s a nightmare as we have been told repeatedly by doctors and researchers who study it.

I get shit done. But it also accumulates stress & the reason for crisis might not be relevant or sensible. But I guess it floats the goat, and I have no (good) other options.

No I mean like shit is on fire crisis. It calms me down because my full attention can be focused instead of having the background track monkey jumping everywhere

Oh, yes, that makes more sense. That sweet calmness in my brainhole chuckling at everyone else in panic mode not making any sense.

I’m still convinced the stress of crisis mode is subtracting years from my life

Yeah I’m definitely aging faster than most of my family.

Yeah, I think it’s pretty evident in my case already. I used to intentionally rely on adrenaline from stress to do my job.

Then again, it’s not like I wanna live that long anyway, but I think stress worsens the later quality of file as well.
