Hey everyone, I’ve been excited for the pixel 8 lineup for quite a while and followed every leak that came through. And now that pre-orders come bundled with a watch, I’m really tempted to place one. But here in the UK, the prices feel especially crushing. So my question is, is it worth getting this bundle now or wait for a sale later.

P.S. I’m using a Rog phone now which has long been orphaned by Asus. I was hoping to switch to a supported device soon.

You should wait. The pixel line have been notorious for quality issues in the first run. There have been a number of class action suits about it.

Always wait a couple months after a release.

I bought the 7a on launch date and got the Pixel Buds with it (the bundle was at €509), and it turned out that the price went down later but then the bundle deal expired and so far, if we assign the Buds a value of €90 (as seen on Amazon), I still got a good deal overall even counting the small discount Pixel 7a got during the 25th anniversary. So I guess it might be the same with the 8 series?

Probably someone who bought the P6P or P7P could chime in with his/her experience?

Yeah, I’m thinking on the same line as well.

I’ve pre ordered the Pixel 8 (with free ear buds pro) I’m coming from a pixel 5 which is now EOL as it won’t be getting any security updates. Look on Carphone warehouse for the cheapest options, ID are significantly cheaper than the competition (and carphone warehouse seem to be cheaper than going direct)

I guess my question is do you need a watch? Are you thinking of flipping the watch? If you can wait, you can probably get another deal during November/ black Friday sales but it’s not guaranteed and I don’t know if it’ll be better. If you have the funds, you should get it just to ease your mind because Google is saying they’re going to support phones for 7 years… (I don’t think so, but who knows).

I hope they make good on the update cycle. But yeah, I would prefer a deal with the watch.

If you’re looking for a deal on the watch I think it’s a good deal then unless you want the LTE version.

They let you pay the diff and upgrade to the LTE, I believe.

I pre-ordered, don’t need or want the watch. But I have a Pixel 6 pro I am not using and $400 trade in is so much more than I could get on eBay or Swappa . If you are trading in, it makes sense to do it now, because those increased trade values are temporary for launch

If you’re in the US and are with Fi, you get $400 off with no trade in required. That’s where I went to buy my P8 Pro. I actually increased the size of it since the discount covered it. I got the watch separately and traded in my old pixel 1 watch.

I have thought a lot about moving to Fi, but I have to good of a deal with T-Mobile right now. 2 lines + 2 free lines, completely unlimited everything, plus netflix and apple tv for $100usd/month If they ever start scaling back my plan (like I hear they may do with this forced plan migration) I am going to hop over.
