Wingman seems doubly appropriate here. There’s obviously the parachute itself, but in this case, I think we’ll see that second kid is going to turn out like Goose from Top Gun.
My older sister and I once made a very questionable swing. My youngest sister was more than happy to be the first one to try it. She had to climb up on the picnic table, under the apple tree, to sit in a chair. We then hoisted the chair up by rope. The chair promptly flipped, we dropped the rope and little sister broke her elbow. Managed to hide the broken elbow from Mom and Dad till the next morning.

Objective To determine if using a parachute prevents death or major traumatic injury when jumping from an aircraft.
Design Randomized controlled trial.
Setting Private or commercial aircraft between September 2017 and August 2018.
Participants 92 aircraft passengers aged 18 and over were screened for participation. 23 agreed to be enrolled and were randomized.
Intervention Jumping from an aircraft (airplane or helicopter) with a parachute versus an empty backpack (unblinded).
