I don’t think it’s a bad football hire on paper (that is, I think he can achieve bowl eligibility more often than not). But he’s a PR headache. That, coupled with the fact he’s not been an HC yet (feels kind of Sam Pittman-esque to me), would have me looking elsewhere. They couldn’t get some MAC or FCS coach without baggage? Heck, if they really want to win they could’ve gotten Art Briles himself…
