I don’t think it’s a bad football hire on paper (that is, I think he can achieve bowl eligibility more often than not). But he’s a PR headache. That, coupled with the fact he’s not been an HC yet (feels kind of Sam Pittman-esque to me), would have me looking elsewhere. They couldn’t get some MAC or FCS coach without baggage? Heck, if they really want to win they could’ve gotten Art Briles himself…

We could not be more excited to welcome Jeff, his wife Staley, and their children Kora and Kane to the Mississippi State family

Also, anyone who chooses those names/spellings for their children is possibly a psychopath.
