I have noticed posts going missing every once in a while and not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s a known issue.

For example I wrote a short welcome post for https://lemmy.world/c/dnd but I can no longer see my own post on my own account. But if i log out and navigate to https://lemmy.world/c/dnd I can see the post is there and fine?

Confused

Could it be based on your language settings? I saw someone mention that setting your language to undefined makes you see all posts. If you set it to English for instance you might not see posts that haven’t specified it’s language as English.

That may totally be it. When I began posting I didn’t understand what that selection was for and just selected English. I’ll mess around with it and see.

It’s a multi select so make sure to select English AND undefined

For the multi select to work on PC, I had to hold ctrl, then mouse click, just FYI

I noticed that on the !startrek@lemmy.ml community. If I was not logged in, I could see a post. But if I logged in I could not.

Check your language setting has all the languages you want selected and ALSO has undefined selected too. V important and it’s been causing a lot of issues, definitely needs looking at by devs.

Where do I look at this language setting? Is it possible to do in apps like connect and liftfoff? I’m having this incredibly annoying problem.

I’m using Liftoff also and it doesn’t look like this setting is in there yet. You can do it from the mobile site though.

If you’re not sure how to get to that, go through Liftoff by visiting settings > accounts > tap the account name > three dots in top corner > open in browser.
