I’m talking about those that play the same games 2 or more times. You already know how the game plays and you know how the story goes. Wouldn’t you rather spend that time playing a new game? I’ve only got so much time to play and a I have huge backlog. I never found myself picking an game I’ve played already over a new one. I’d like to know your thoughts.

I’m a completionist in most games I play. The first run is purely to absorb the story and subsequent runs are to see and do everything the game has to offer.

There’s more to a game than plot

  • Run optimization.
  • Because I genuinely enjoy the game.
  • Because certain games take longer than others and I’d rather just run through something short, especially when I have too much shit going on in life to keep up with a larger game.
  • Because I don’t give a shit about the story and knowing it ahead of time does not change my experience.
  • Because sometimes it’s more comfortable to re-run through something that I know, than starting something new that I don’t, especially when I’m sick / fucked up / have other shit going on.
  • Because I want to.
