When there’s a dress code to play chess, it’s time to find something else to do.
The last game of chess I played in person I wore a ripped shirt and basketball shorts.
The last game I played I was on the toilet.
If there’s a dress code, I missed it somewhere along the way, and nobody has corrected me so I guess imma just keep playing in my comfy shit.
If I can’t wear what I find comfortable, bragging rights at a game aren’t enough to make me change.

Vague rules definitely serve a purpose.
vague rules exist to give jurisiction the abuility to make calls, however if the judges cannot even define what each type of shoe is, then the rule is useless.
Certainly, although this is assuming the judge will act fairly. It could be that the judge just didn’t like her, for whatever reason.
