Image description: In the first panel, there is a text box that says “THE SPACECRAFT MADE A HARD LANDING AND CRASHED. WE LOST ONE BILLION DOLLARS! I WANT TO KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENED!!!” In the second panel, a scientist says “UM, SIR! I THINK I’VE FOUND THE REASON!” There is a computer screen in the background that shows code with the line “if isLanding && false (”.

The image description is missing the joke by not describing the comment above the function. Also, i feel like the names of the 3 functions would finally make the description worthwhile.
I wouldn’t even know where to start, by only reading the image description.
Sorry, idk why this is giving me a hard time.
This (almost) just happened to the IM-1 lander: spacenews.com/im-1-lunar-lander-tipped-over-on-it…
The lasers, though, did not work, and engineers determined that a physical switch — a safety measure on the ground because the lasers are not eye-safe — was not flipped before launch.
Why, Flight Engineer T’daveral! Where is your smooth and relaxing cigarette? And someone get that man a high-ball.
I don’t care too much if the test suite turns red. But I do halt the deployment if grep TODO.*BEFORE.*DEPLOY
finds something.
This is so unrealistic. False would be first to save a cycle and avoid any possible side effects in the rest of test.
