Pfft. These kids need to learn somehow. What if you get called to a staff meeting but forget your staff?

How can you call yourself a magi if your response to not having your staff on hand isn’t to just start blasting spells from your bare hands?

The staff is the better weapon, the increase stamina generation while blocking means you can tire your opponent and force them to drop their sword, allowing you to defeat them more consistently.
