I joined Lemmy after the Reddit API protests, and I miss the fashion subreddits the most. I never really posted my outfits, but I really liked making inspo galleries to share with the community. I also really liked talking about fashion in general. I think a fashion community would be a nice addition to Beehaw.
I have a rough outline and condensed of what I hope the community would be like. One thing I liked about the fashion subreddits is how curated some were. I like that most of the content you saw when you opened it up, was generally pretty high quality. No low effort memes or questions. I hope this request is taken into consideration.

Not sure if the communities should be gender specific like on Reddit. Also, some fashion subreddits usually need approval before posting, not sure if that should be done here as well.
I read the FAQ for beehaw, but I see other people requesting communities here as well so I might as well bring it up now and later when it’s more appropriate. I’m sorry if this is not allowed. I will also be willing to help however I can with the community.
I really like this idea and all the thought that went into it! I’d love to have a fashion community 💜 we’ll definitely add it to the list of next places we want to create but can’t put any promises into a timeline yet.
I agree about a fashion community being a great idea. I would be concerned about it becoming an advertisement playground or purely self promoting. Would need to have rules in place to try and avoid the _here’s a cute shirt - ((link to OPs Etsy/Amazon store)) or worse just a scammer website or crappy t-shirt spammer with a screen print shirt at best, credit card skimmer likely worst, in place.
