John Barnett had worked for Boeing for 32 years, until his retirement in 2017.

In the days before his death, he had been giving evidence in a whistleblower lawsuit against the company.

Boeing said it was saddened to hear of Mr Barnett’s passing. The Charleston County coroner confirmed his death to the BBC on Monday.

It said the 62-year-old had died from a “self-inflicted” wound on 9 March and police were investigating.

In case you think we’re any better than the Russians.

This is the norm in Russia, it’s not in the US. Both sides are not the same. I can’t seem to remember the last time any president had someone they didn’t like pushed out of a window or had their tea poisoned on the regular. If Trump gets elected obviously that will change but to say that we aren’t any better is wild.

Especially after killing political rivals like Navalny (and all the failed attempts). When is the last time we saw that in the US?

Boy, this town sure does have gang violence like that town over there!

Why don’t you go live over there, then?

What a stupid pointless argument. What does that even mean?

No, it is not a corporation protecting its bottom line that makes us no better, but the inevitable lack of response from the US “justice” system. Just like with Epstein.

“Local officials confirmed Mr. Barnett’s suicide. When asked how Mr. Barnett managed to fire the sniper shot through his bedroom window, the officer first on the scene only replied, “Trust me bro.”, while stuffing a large stack of 100 dollars bills back down the front of his pants.”

[2 week later] Former lead detective found dead in in what investigators have ruled a suicide. He apparently hung himself after a fit of rage where his house appeared to have kicked in his own front door, tore the hard drive out of his security camera hub, punched himself in the face a number of times, then tied the rope to a bannister and strung himself up.

(Interwebz pedant voice) actually there are several scenarios possible where one could conceivably kill themselves with a sniper rifle 100 yards away . . . People who don’t know about this are just so credulous, but weapons science has known for a long time that JFK actually killed himself . . .

To the people saying Boeing killed him, sorta, but not really.

I’ve known people who have had tried to unionize in multiple industries and all of their health went to shit. Beyond the constant threat of a billion dollar organization breathing down your neck and threatening litigation for the remainder of your twilight years.

Think about how often the people around you have wanted to end their life, or hell even you yourself. Now couple that with all the above.

Just because people are noble doesn’t mean they aren’t anymore human that you or me.

Nobody went in and murdered Epstein. He had plenty of reason to do it himself as a known pedophile for the richest in a penal system that doesn’t exactly look fondly on chomos.

Either way, needlessly speculating is fun. Just don’t let yourselves fall into these dumbass conspiracies like every right-wing fascist chud has for the last decade or more. Reality is rarely as exciting as headlines, movies, or the internet likes it to be.

obviously Epstein killed himself to protect the secret technique of disabling security cameras and putting guards to sleep with his mind

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. What you’re describing kind of happened to Aaron Schwartz RIP.

Even if Epstein killed himself they definitely knew he was suicidal and looked the other way while he did it. Idk about this guy but it’s suspicious but I agree more information needs to come out before going too far into any rabbit holes. Sorry for your mass downvotes lol looks like some people are already sucked in. 😅

ITT: The equivalent of Trump supporters confusing the fact that they are suspicious that the election was stolen, with actually knowing so.

Well, Boeing is demonstrably willing, even determined, to choose financial short term gain over any amount of human lives or reputation loss. It would be shocking if it was truly an accident that saved Boeing from a second day of testimony right when everything is starting to really fall apart for them, right?

Notice how you haven’t offered up any evidence. Just motivation to kill him (even that’s tenuous at best).

You know what Trump supporters often argue? That the “deep state” had motive to stop Trump from becoming POTUS, which is what makes their claims reasonable.

In this case, you’re acting just like them.

I don’t disagree with you. But evidence of Boeing being willing to trade lives for profit is super, super easy to find right now. If you aren’t being disingenuous I am willing to do some of the labor you are asking for

I’d say it’s more like a huge percentage of votes for one candidate got lost in a fire. Sure fires happen, but it was really important that this one should be protected from happening.

Pretty sure no one at the top of boeing cares about anything other than the next quarter, and that mentality is exactly the one that would panic and pull the trigger.

They didn’t kill him for 6 or 7 years because boeings weren’t falling apart in the air back then. Now that its in the news they knew his testimony would sink them, so they made a gamble.
