Just would like to say that if you get $3000 in free games over the past 3 years, $5 is nothing.

Without money, piracy sites shut down. Then everyone cries.

It’s not a bad thing to throw them a few bucks every few years if you want them to survive.

Price of a cup of coffee.

We all know this is a side hustle. No one pirates or repacks as a main source of income, donations are way too volatile for that.

So no, I won’t tip someone for their hobby.

I don’t. And I’ll be wary about assuming that. If they devote their time and effort to one thing, they’re sacrificing being able to do other things. Idk why there is a need to explain that

Is there an alternative to fitgirl that doesn’t have the long uncompress / unpack times? I love that fitgirl has everything and is a trusted source, but the decompression takes too long and sometimes doesn’t even work on Linux.

elamigos, you can find their repacks on most sites on the megathread

I am also looking for this. I default to fitgirl because its the only trustworthy source in the scene that i know.

Oc i can just try and find a torent myself but with so many fakers out there, people uploading game files even if there is no working crack available, it feels like gambling.

DODI also has good repacks (has worse compresion but faster unpacks so is better on faster vpns)

To me that’s fair, this is the price of good compression and to me it’s worth it.

However what I don’t like is the forced admin rights request, which is totally unnecessary. This is the reason I very rarely use their repacks. I know they are trusted, but I chose to not choose them.

Try Dodi.

Any torrents you search for on a tracker that don’t say ‘Repack’ are relatively uncompressed.

Isn’t that like 90% of the point of the repack? To heavily compress things and drastically reduce the download size of a game?

Then I suppose I am looking for a download resources that aren’t repacks, or at least aren’t so heavy and convoluted on the way they pack.

What I liked about fitgirl is the reputation. A resource I can trust and quality is consistent.

I thought 90% was defeating DRM and 10% was reducing download size. Doesn’t matter how quick the download is if DRM blocks you from running the game.

I don’t pirate games (any more) but my understanding is that FitGirl is one of the few crackers who can defeat denuvo, which means the only choice for pirates is repack.

FitGirl only repacks; he doesn’t defeat Denuvo. The only crackers within the last twelve months or so to crack Denuvo have been MKDEV and EMPRESS, both of whom are no longer active in the scene.

That’s just downloading the game and getting the crack.

You are mistaking Fitgirl (generally seems to be a pretty cool person) with Empress (transphobic shitbag but puts the time in to remove denuvo). Fitgirl repacks are generally more about massive compression and dealing with the mess that is (generally nintendo and) emulators for modern platforms. Like, I allegedly grabbed my copy of breath of the wild out of one of her repacks because I could not be bothered to figure out how to get all the DLCs set up.

Edit: I was wrong. Dismiss the comment!

Was’nt this person transphobic? To me that’s relevant. I wouldn’t like people giving them support in that case.

You’re likely thinking of Empress who has a number of personality issues… transphobia definitely being one of them.

TBH I totally thought they were the same person/group until now. Not really into the cracking scene, though…

They take cracked games and compress their size down so that shipmates with low bandwidth can download them easier.

I only just noticed that they don’t work if you are offline so they are worthless. It means it’s connecting to a server that could disappear at any moment and make your downloads useless.
