Just use one of the many open source Lemmy apps, such as Voyager or Jerboa. They don’t have ads.

Or pay the app developer the £3.59 one time fee they are asking for for the hard work they’ve put into making the app good.

Why, when free and open source alternatives exist? I don’t know about you, but I’d rather donate to something like Jerboa, than spend the same amount of money supporting proprietary software. Especially as Lemmy itself is an open source protocol.
