Iโm actually giving a talk about composting at my town library tonight! Here is a slide from the presentation:
And a picture of one of our actively turned piles:
No way! I hope your presentation goes well - I got a chuckle out of the last point.
If youโre interested, your presentstion/pile would make great posts in this community. :) Hopefully we can make it more active.
Iโm glad you have a sick sense of humus too =D
Iโll see how they feel about me recording itโฆ I didnโt really put any presenter notes in the deck so it might not be as useful. If they let me record Iโll happily post it here, otherwise Iโll type up some notes and links before sharing the deck so itโs more actionable for folks.
Good luck and enjoy presenting! If you are willing and allowed to, could you share your full slidedeck afterwards? Or at the odd chance of it being recorded, please share the video!
Really cool that you are doing this for your local community =)
Thanks! I actually used to do presentations for a living so this is a nice chance to stretch those mental muscles again. Iโm going to ask to record it, but if the attendees are leery of it Iโll just record the audio and run the slide deck over the narration to share here.
This is our backyard setup as of last month, in sketch form, before the leaves came out :)
Nice pile there! Iโm guessing this Composting Day is a (US) national thing? A quick search shows โLearn About Composting Dayโ, is that the one?
Please tell us more. Over here (Netherlands) we do have a โnational compost dayโ in March, where you can go and get compost from the municipality. Great initiative, though the quality of compost is questionable as itโs the end product of whatever the municipality collected in the green bins over the year. And people put in, well, everything. So, it is definitely not a โLearn Aboutโ day, while we could use that for sure over here in my experience.
