Battery is dead – otherwise fully functional.

Rebuild the battery with new Li-Ion cells… You can do it, we believe in you!

I could, true, and I certainly would if I would use it as a daily driver, but it’s a bit too old for that

Heh. Lenovo. Peasant.

I’ve got an old IBM T60p. One of the last ones they made before they sold, iirc.

wait, seriously?

I thought the t43 was the last one they made, and the ones with ibm badges were still made by Lenovo

I can’t claim that it’s the absolute last model IBM actually built, but it’s definitely one of the last iirc

Battery is entirely discharged, and haven’t tried to turn it on in years, but it worked the last time I did.

@gravitas_deficiency @Jumuta Lenovo built the t60 but it was sold under the IBM brand. They built some of the t43s too. Excellent machine though.

Lenovo co designed the 40 series with IBM, and during the 60 series they finally switched branding over to Lenovo.

If you want pre Lenovo Thinkpad you need to go even older than the 40 series. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acquisition_of_the_IBM_PC_business_by_Lenovo
