I don’t know exactly when SpongeBob SquarePants first released, but I was about 19 when I first discovered it. I was working night shift in the US Air Force and my fellow night shift crew discovered it was playing on TV every night, so we watched it pretty much every night. We worked a 24-hr IT help desk, and no one called us at night.

I just turned 40 last month.

I was 14 when SpongeBob came out. And I always thought my friend re-telling the jokes was funnier than when I’d see those episodes. Though that could have just been because jokes start losing efficacy once you know them. 🤔
