Thought about comparing different modes of transport, but realized it would be way too subjective. For example, if 5 km are in biking range is dependent on biking infrastructure, available public transport, how in shape you are…

But then I realized I can just simplify all these things away to get the optimal transportation flowchart. Simple is always better, right?

I live in suburbia and walk to work because it’s in my basement and shipping a brain through meat space to push buttons somewhere else is dumb.

Hmm. Is a cargo-bike better than a bike in the Netherlands?

It has to be so, why else would it say so on my chart?

Well, I mix in some skateboard+public transport and bike+public transport but you are pretty much spot on.

Over 50km I try to carpool or do public transport . (Argentina, 70km away friend visit is not uncommon)

I’m too terrified of dying to an irresponsible driver, so as much as I would like to bike everywhere, I’ll keep taking the metro for now. They’re adding more and more actually decent bike lanes so hopefully one day…

I have to take car to train. A bus comes all 2-4 hours and bike takes 40-50 min to the trains ;-;

But hopefully soon i can move!
