I hate these articles because this same plot line has been reported by media for almost a decade.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-white-victimhood-fuels-republican-politics/

https://www.salon.com/2016/06/06/the_politics_of_bigotry_donald_trump_and_the_rise_of_white_racial_victimhood/

This has been the narrative. But media loves horse race politics so they operate like both sides have a point which gives us white victimhood. Snake eating its tail.

I honestly think outfits like Disney are purposefully doing things to whip up white cishet resentment and get more cons into power. I realize how conspiracy-minded that statement is, but their over the top cartoonish DEI/pandering stuff seems almost DESIGNED to turn people into Republicans. It’s really hard to explain their actions as being profit-driven.

The people voting for donnie are not really voting for any serious policies; they are just flailing around and are told all Democrats are behind the more silly outbursts from the fringe. They think they’ll put Hollywood into “their place”, but what’s most likely is that they’ll just get more dirty air, hotter and hotter climate, dirty water, more corporate welfare, no worker protections, no healthcare, no education for their kids, and on and on. And all to get those wokesters…

over the top cartoonish DEI

Suggest to consider why you’re highlighting DEI a an issue. I only see such stuff from pretty right wing media.

A common trick is to blame problems on a group. E.g. black people, gay people, trans people, etc. DEI fits right into that.

It’s really hard to explain their actions as being profit-driven.

Why are people outraged? Currently the blame is on trans and DEI. You’re blaming Disney instead of the ones promoting yet another group as the cause why stuff is bad.

I’m just asking how much of an ally Disney really is. To me, it just seems to be a way to hit the hornets nest, and build up tons of resentment among a certain set of people that might be centrist/apolitical in the first place. I don’t think it’s helping the liberal/leftist cause - if anything it just seems like performance art crafted to anger a lot of people that for class reasons, might vote Democratic.

Well, as someone who’s half white, it’s getting fucking old being told I’m too blame for everything, and that I can’t have any pride in my own heritage. And that I MUST support BLM, I MUST support the liberal movement, I MUST support the Trans movement… etc…

Why do you seem so fucking dumb that you’d vote against people and policies that will make your life better JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE SHOWED YOU HOW ITD BE BETTER?!?!

How dare someone tell you that your life matters?!?!

Theres no fucking way you’re real or you’re literally retarded.

Because racism against white folks is real, despite how much everyone chants reverse racism isn’t a thing.

I just went through company bias training where it was explicitly stated a white CEO should exclude mentorship to white people because of bias, and a LGBTQ leader should embrace that bias because it supports diversity.

No nuance, no conversations about how to mitigate and identify subtle bias. It’s just don’t mentor white people.

Sounds more like a company problem if that’s the way they’re choosing to go about it

Nope, you can find examples of this shit all over the place This material is sold to businesses across the country.

A significant portion of progressives are absolutely, intentionally or not, are incredibly racist. The fact that “reverse racism isn’t real” is a thing should be a strong indicator imo.

You are getting downvoted, but I have seen a bit of this myself and I understand why people would really start to resent this kind of thing. I grew up dirt poor, but I get a lot of messaging about how I should “check my privilege” from people much further up the economic ladder than I am now and certainly where I came from. I used to shrug off this ignorance based on racism, but it’s become more prevalent and definitely more strident. I’m to shut up entirely and listen to others merely and only because of demographics? No, I’m not having it. That’s about as bigoted as it gets.

I don’t think the answer is to vote for a terrorist like donnie or demons like any Republican politician. I really don’t know what the answer is. I just don’t think that some of the people pushing extremely racist things while supposedly under the banner of equity even have any clue just how many Republicans they are probably creating. When you go around preaching at people, and telling them they are the source of so many problems and they need to just listen at all times to a certain set of self-selected demographics, or else be accused of all kinds of things, people really don’t take it all that well.

The reality is the civil rights movement is both about increasing the social power of non-white citizens AND decreasing the social power of white citizens.

The former is what usually feels okay for white citizens, but the latter tends to be what white folks call “reverse racism”. It doesn’t feel great losing the social power tied to your caste, but it’s necessary to create an equal opportunity society.

Show me where white people were subjected to red line policies or rejected for loans because they’re white.

THAT LITERALLY NEVER HAPPENS

When white people complain about racism it’s things ppl say to them. When minorities complain about racism it’s because the system is literally abusing them.

These are not the same “racism”.

Grow up. Someone calling u cracker doesn’t make you a race victim…lol
