I was curious so I checked.

Aqua OS X logo is 2001-2007.

MS Vista - 7 Logo is 2006-2020.

Seems like you are correct it if the meme creator used the most recent logos at the time. So 17 or 18 years old.

Really depends on where you are.

Most of Europe the age is 18. Some countries goes as low as 16. In North America, in Canada it is 18 for 3 provinces, in the USA it depends on the state. Puerto Rico is 18. Mexico it’s 18. Nearly all of South America it is 18 with a couple of exceptions where it is 16 and one case where it is 20. Most of Africa it is 18. Asia is mix but China it is 18.

I don’t think Windows user disagree with privacy per se. IMO, it’s more that they believe the lie that privacy is a myth, despite the fact it was had in abundance hardly more than a decade ago.

That’s certainly a conclusion to jump to.

I don’t have anything to say about Apple users, because I don’t know anything about them. I do however have things to say about Windows users, having been one my entire life up until a few years ago.

MacOS is a great os, and it comes with solid hardware. If you use your laptop for anything except gaming, and you can pay premium, a mac is a really good choise. Also, it’s a lot easier to develop apps for iphones from macs, and that’s a thing that a lot of people do.

Given that’s actually the only way to do it… (Without resorting to jumping through hoops via emulation)

And that is why my code will never be multiplatform. No way I’m going to sink several thousand dollars for a machine I will never use except as part of my build pipeline.

I’ve switched my laptop from an XPS machine to an M1 Pro MBP, and it’s genuinely been one of my best purchases. I can easily do my work for an entire day, and more often than not, I can spend like 3 nights in a row watching something in bed too. Not to mention that it doesn’t run like a furnace, even under load

I used my 2010 MacBook Pro for about 10 years before I decided to buy a new one (no longer supported by Apple). It ran great too, for being 10 years old.

MacBooks are great. You can still run Linux on it if you still want to use the hardware.

Or you can try OpenCore Legacy Patcher.

What is OpenCore?

The “pucks” definitely were terrible, but they had one button mice in the “classic” Mac times too and people were always using that as an example of how Macs are baaaaaad

I might be an idiot, but I’m not going to use a Mac.

This meme also perpetuates the myth that to use Linux you must be an IT person. I just use it as a user.

This meme has the logos of the OSs from around 2007. Back then there weren’t many Linux non-IT users.

I actually prefer the newer ones, i always hated the like shiny 3d type of look. However some companies/designers/whatever do a bit to much nowadays. or should i say to little🤔

This may be a hot take, but I don’t think that on a linux specific meme community we should really care about what puts linux into a good light and what doesn’t. I mean have you seen vegancirclejerk? We are here to laugh and that can be achived by self-deprecating humor or parodying what others think of our system of choice as well.
